If you're one of the 75 million people within a half-day drive of Benezette, Pennsylvania, one of the greatest wildlife shows anywhere is accessible to you, and it's FREE! And you're in luck. Not nearly that many people will show up because so few people know about it. September is the time to see these magnificent wild elk. Take your binoculars, and also your camera. You'll need that even more.
These elk have a long history and they're an important result of the conservation efforts of hunters. They're there not just for hunters. In fact, they're an important resource for everyone, so if you love wildlife you need to go see them. Before you do, check out this week's column (September 6, 2021), "Wild AND Free!" by "The Everyday Hunter®" and see what it's all about.
