Deer hunting isn't magic. Or is it? As a young hunter yet to draw first blood, I was trying to figure out anything that would give me the success I desperately wanted. Who knew which of the many accoutrements of deer hunting held the magic and would make me a real deer hunter, just like my dad?
I'm much older now, but I'm just as sure as ever that there's magic in deer hunting — although the magic is not what I once thought it might be. Check out my December 10 column in the Jamestown (NY) Gazette: "The Magic of Deer Hunting."
