Two or three times each week from now until mid-May, I’ll post some tips about spring gobbler hunting. I’m not the best turkey hunter around, but I’ll share what I know. It might be helpful to those who pursue our greatest game bird.

Turkey hunting sure has changed, especially for anyone who began hunting in the 1960's or earlier. If you go back and review books or magazine articles written back then, you'll be surprised at how much even the "expert" hunters didn't know. And back then we didn’t have videos. But there’s a limit to what you can learn from videos. Footage that’s edited, trimmed and set to heart-pounding music can’t possibly tell us how much patience we’ll need in the turkey woods. Patience. It’s what kills unkillable birds.

Watch for more “Tips on Turkey Hunting” two or three times each week until mid-May. I don’t claim to be the best turkey hunter around, but I’ll share what I know. It might be helpful to those who pursue our greatest game bird.

While you're at it, check out my gobbler-killin' Northern Scratchbox turkey call at www.EverydayHunter.com/turkey-call. It's full of deadly sounds.
