The Nun's World-Famous Deer Hunt

UPDATE: This blog article, published at Legendary Whitetails, won the "Outdoor Blog Entry Award " from the Pennsylvania Outdoor Writer's Association on May 20, 2017.

In all the writing I've done on last year's controversy surrounding Sister John Paul Bauer and the deer she shot, I have not said much about the actual story of the hunt itself (although it has been told by others in PA Game News and elsewhere).

My contribution to the story is mainly my article in the November 2016 issue of North American Whitetail magazine on what it means to be a Christian and a deer hunter -- and how the two go together. My "7 Theological Truths about Deer Hunting" grew out of my conversations with her. Now that I'm finished with that series, here's a short version of the hunt story I recently wrote for the Legendary Whitetails community blog: The Nun's World-Famous Deer Hunt.
