The Déjà Vu Gobbler

Writer's picture: Steve Sorensen Steve Sorensen

I'm always excited when Bob D'Angelo, editor of Pennsylvania Game News magazine, agrees to publish one of my articles. Maybe it's because Bob and his staff do such a great job presenting my work. Maybe it's because I consider the Game News the best of all state wildlife agency magazines. Maybe it's because Game News has been around so long. Maybe it's because of my respect for so many who have written for Game News down through the years (and even today). Maybe it's because, as a kid, I hoped someday my writing would appear in Pennsylvania Game News.

My most recent Game News article is about a gobbler I shot last year. Turkey hunters tend to think nothing happens in the turkey woods the same way twice, but this story proves that the same thing can happen twice, and when it does, it's just as surprising as when it doesn't! If you're not a subscriber, grab the May 2020 issue off the news stands and read "Déjà Vu and the Guarded Gobbler."
