It's Tick Season

Writer's picture: Steve Sorensen Steve Sorensen

As if we didn't have enough to worry about, with the quarantine, social distancing, masks (and wearing them properly), Job losses, the "re-opening," nationwide rioting, we have a lot on our minds. Now that it's summer, people who spend time outdoors are worrying about ticks.

After being outdoors, be alert to sensations that might be a tick crawling on you. (Steve Sorensen photo.)

Put ticks in the category of "daily challenges of life," because they really are a potential issue 365 days a year. I've seen them every month of the year, though they're more prevalent now. As you plan for summer activities you'll want to defend yourself against ticks and tick-borne diseases. The more you know about them the easier it will be to guard against them, so read "It's Tick Season" in the June 8 issue of the Jamestown Gazette.
