Well Done, My Friend

Charles Alsheimer was well known across the United States and Canada in the world of whitetail deer, but lived out his life in western New York on the small farm where he grew up. Many readers of this column knew him personally, and there's a chance some haven't heard of his unexpected passing on December 30.

My own thoughts about Charlie are a small part of all there was to this great man. An entire book could be written about him. One of the most inspirational outdoorsmen of our time, Charlie was a humble man who shared his life both one-on-one, and in enormous crowds, and had influence on everyone he touched.

Read this week's column about Charlie at "Well Done, My Friend" in the Jamestown Gazette.
